Imagination Opens Doors

Imagination Opens Doors for Your Child

Einstein said “Imagination is more important than knowledge”. As parents we know that creativity and problem solving are skills are children need. More so now than ever before. As adults, each of our kids will need to be able to think outside of the box and be innovative problem solvers. The foundation for that ability is imagination.

Imagination opens the doors of new worlds for your child. When youngsters play, creating pretend worlds, they learn acting and different imaginary roles. When you child imagines new ways of doing things it helps to develop their critical thinking skills. Each time your child creates a fort from a box, pretends to fly, or takes clay to create a sculpture, he or she is learning a new way to relate to the world.

When your child play acts with a friend, he or she is learning different roles, ways to communicate and resolve whatever comes up. This provides your child with practice and self confidence in social expression.

Each story your child tells, the play they put on for their family or the song they create from their minds help them to learn, develop their ability to communicate and improves their vocabulary.

Imagination matters! In our next blog entry, we will give you some tips to stimulate your child’s imagination each and every day. Be sure to leave us a post on our Facebook Page- Mothers Art World.
